Questions from Michael Isherwood.

Having visited the RLAS website I may be able to contribute something once I have done some more work on my Grandfather (G W Isherwood of

Turton/Bolton) who showed cattle, particularly dairy shorthorns at shows in the 1920s.

I have a number of photos of his cows, with names but do not know when/if any of these were shown. The only catalogue that I have successfully found his cattle in is the show of 1927 in Bolton when he entered 9 cows.

He did not compete in the 1934 Bolton show as, I believe, his cattle had by then been destroyed by incineration due to disease.

I have only been able to access Bolton show catalogues at Bolton Library and, as I live in Colchester, I wonder if you could advise me on any location in London (or Colchester area) where there might be a run of RLAS catalogues for the 1920s

Also, perhaps, you could advise me if there is any listing of judges for the RLAS - his 1955 obituary mentions that he was a well known judge at shows.

Thank you for your time

Michael
